Princess is off to Preschool

Well, she ran in without even thinking about hugging me goodbye. Luckily, her teacher could tell I wasn’t quite ready to say goodbye even though she was ready for school. She came running back for a quick hug and I love you.
I should feel blessed to have one child not clinging to me at the door of the classroom. For some reason, I have a love/hate feeling towards having a VERY independent daughter.
I also remembered to take pictures…unfortunately not at home. But we grabbed some in the parking lot before school.Nikon 761 She of insisted on having her kitty in the pictures and some battles aren’t worth fighting.Nikon 763 She got sick of pictures and just wanted to go in school.Nikon 764 I wanted one more picture, but to no avail. Maybe next year. But, at least I got first day of 3 year old preschool documented.
And then I was gone for four nights…

    Awww…what a cutie! :)

  2. She is adorable! I also have a love/hate relationship with the fact that my kids don't mind leaving me in the dust!

  3. Does she stay all day and go every day? How cute she is, and I totally understand about the kitty issue! So sorry you had to be gone for 4 days; that was probably a little hard on both of you. Hope life is starting to slow down a bit. I know that after a while, I just want to scream, "TIME OUT!!" and go hide for a while!

What do you mean you have a love/hate relationship with her being independent. Afraid she is going to grow up like you…haha! I just can't wait to watch from the sidelines! :)

  5. She is adorable you should be glad she will be her own person. A leader some day just like her Mom

  6. Kelly @ The Startup Wife says:

So cute! She seems so self-possessed and confident for a three-year-old! I bet she'll be such a joy for her teachers.

What a cutie, but I so understand the love/hate relationship with her independence. I'm afraid I'm going to have it with 2 daughters which is so hard. If it makes you feel any better, I left for 3 nights after Big Sissy started 2nd grade this year. I wish we couldn't relate on being traveling working moms and could both be close to home every night.

  8. Wait until she gets a little older… You'll feel guilty for looking forward to dropping her off at school, so you don't have to hear one more word about the laundry that didn't get done over the weekend!!!
    Cute kiddo!

  9. I feel for you mama! Independence… the double edged sword.

  10. i debated about taking my daughter to 3 year old preschool… she can't wait to go! bummer you were gone for 4 nights, but yay for celebrating her first day!! :)

Wow, what a cutie! Loved getting to know you (and her) through these pics. Happy WMW!

  12. Working Mommy Wednesday…I was working and missed it! But I love this Leah. Hang in there. The first day of preschool is an awesome day to be home for you daughter. As a working mommy, you will miss other days but when they are older (like my 13 year old) they just remember the "big" days you really promoted and a few days you were there to take care of them when they were sick!

  13. Oh dear Lord, she is just too cute! I love the playground in the background. Total variation to the at home pics.

  14. What a cutie! My daughter was so excited for her first preschool day too, and you did better than I did. I got no pics at all.
