It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

I love decorating for Christmas. I love the glow of twinkling lights everywhere. And even though those who know me best know I am the complete opposite of particular about my surroundings, I love a balanced neatly decorated tree.

But I have a three and five year old. They put 42 ornaments on a single branch.

So, I am that mother.

That mother that let’s her toddlers have four foot tall trees in their bedrooms.

It makes them happy. It makes me happy. Drives the husband crazy that we have four trees up. So, we are all happy:)

And of course a princess would have to wear crinoline to decorate a tree.

Really, could we have it any other way?

And, the more colors we possibly can get on one tree the better.

I made Boo put clothes on for the picture.

He is much more of a minimalist. Super heroes and…

Soccer balls. He has three hanging from two different branches. Because he can. Because I am not gonna fight him on it. His tree. His business.

I know you are all dying to see my trees, but they just aren’t perfect yet. You have to wait.

So, do you put trees in your kid’s room? Or am I just a push over?

  1. No tree in her room, but she totally OWNS the big one ;)

  2. The girls have one in their room year 'round. Hmmmm Am I just that Christmasy or too lazy/busy to take it down? The world may never know!

  3. Your children are adorable!!

I think it is a great idea! All of the ornaments on my tree are in the bottom third just because the kiddos can't reach any higher. I try to withhold myself from moving them but by Christmas they are usually evened out a little bit. A tree in their rooms sounds like the perfect solution!

We normally only have one tree, but I'm sure my 4 and 6 years olds would love their own trees though! What a great mom you are!

  6. Yep – they have trees in their room! Pink and purple in the girls – and ALL John Deere for the boy – green lights, a few JD ornaments (they are expensive) and then green and yellow balls – he won't allow anything else on his tree!

  7. Let them have a tree in their room for sure. I always had trees in my room growing up. It is fun to let it be their own style.

  8. Absolutely! Ciara had a tree in her room at 6 mo. old! I wanted the ornaments people gave her to be hers and to have a place to put them. At 2, I didn't let her do much decorating, but she did help as you saw in my last blog post.

My daughter has a small tree in her room, as well as glitter snowflakes hanging from her ceiling fan. My son is a teenager and "too cool" for that now.
