Impossible ham and swiss pie is a simple recipe to make with leftover ham and biscuit mix for an easy weeknight dinner. This ham casserole is easy to make and requires very little prep work and then baking for 45 minutes until it is a golden brown. Impossible ham and swiss pie is a great recipe for when you don't have a lot of time to prepare dinner but have time to let it bake.
Impossible Ham & Swiss Pie falls into the Breakfast section of the cookbook; however, this could also be a quick lunch or supper. We actually made it for a brunch meal. I love combining breakfast and lunch meals. Fewer dishes!!
Impossible Ham Pie Ingredients
The ingredients to make this super easy ham casserole that is really a cross between a quiche and a bread are staples in my house.
- Diced Ham - Leftover ham works great but the diced ham from the deli meat area works great.
- Biscuit Mix - Any biscuit mix will work. Bisquick or the store brand biscuit mixes all work the same.
- Eggs
- Milk
- Cheese - Swiss is perfect but Havarti, Monterey Jack, and gouda would work well too.
- Onions - Sweet onions are what I typically have on hand. White onions or even green onions can be used. If you are not an onion person, the onions can be omitted.
How to Make Impossible Ham and Swiss Pie
To get this casserole ready faster be sure to heat oven to 400 degrees while you put this recipe together.
Since this recipe is impossibly easy, my kids helped make it. Start by beating four eggs and adding one cup of biscuit baking mix in a large bowl. Continue by adding two cups of milk and mix until combined.
While I had the kids mixing I added two cups of diced ham, โ cup of onions, and one cup of shredded Swiss cheese to the bottom of a deep greased pie plate. Then pour the eggs and baking mix over top.
Bake at 400 degrees for 35-40 minutes until a knife comes out clean.
It was delish! The kiddos loved it too.

Impossible Ham and Swiss Pie
Ingredients
- 2 cups diced cooked ham
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
- โ cup onion diced
- 4 eggs beaten
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup biscuit baking mix
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Grease a 10-inch deep dish pie plate. Spread ham over the bottom of the pie pan and then layer with cheese and onions.
- Whisk eggs, milk, and biscuit mix together until smooth. Add salt and pepper.
- Pour egg mixture over top of the ham and cheese.
- Bake uncovered at 400 degrees for 35-40 minutes, until golden and a knife tip comes out clean.

I've been making this recipe for more than 30 years now. My family loves it. However, I use cheddar, chopped ham, and lightly steamed broccoli in the quiche rather than the other add-ins. It is yummy for dinner and great for leftovers to heat up in the morning for breakfast!
