Beer Braised Steak Fajitas

Sharing is caring!

A few weeks ago I got a sampler box of beef from Sumner Point Beef. I am most excited to see precut packages of fajita meat came in the sampler box of beef. I have made lots of pork fajitas and chicken fajitas but haven’t yet perfected my beer braised steak fajitas.

While I get my beef from my brother’s farm, my interest was peaked to see just how getting the beef shipped to my house would work. I was excited to get my frozen beef delivered, still frozen solid. I completely recommend having your beef shipped to you from Sumner Point Beef.

The basics for the fajitas are the fajita meat, fajita seasoning, onions and peppers, and of course beer. I also include garlic and lime for extra flavor. Plus some fire roasted tomatoes got added to the dish too. Inspiration always comes during the cooking process.

Begin by putting vegetable oil down in a large skillet and place the fajita meat in the hot skillet generously seasoned with fajita seasoning. Then slowly pour a half of a Dos Equis over the fajita meat.

When the meat begins to brown add the sliced peppers, onions, and minced garlic.

Stir to combine the onions and peppers. Then add a half a can of fire-roasted canned tomatoes to the pan.

Let the steak and vegetables simmer for 8-10 minutes. Before servings squeeze the lime juice over the top and have your favorite toppings ready to go. I had a guacamole salad ready to go. Shredded lettuce topped with guacamole, sour cream, and sliced tomatoes.

Feel free to add queso or shredded cheese to the combination too.

The fajitas should have plenty of liquid. I like to keep the fajitas nice and juicy.

And of course, you will need a Dos Equis to wash the beer braised steak fajitas down.

The fajitas are a great low carb meal too if you just eat the meat straight on top of the guacamole salad.
