Instructions for How to Make Grilled Pork Chops
The juiciest pork chops can come from a brine or a pork chop marinade. This honey glazed pork chop marinade is a great change of flavors from traditional smoked or barbecued pork chops.
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and red pepper flakes. This marinade is the secret to infusing the pork chops with incredible flavor, so coat them generously.
Place the pork chops in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the pork chops, ensuring they are evenly coated. If using a dish, cover it with plastic wrap. If using a plastic bag, press out as much air as possible and seal tightly. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, but for the best results, marinate overnight.
Preheat the grill to 375°F. Remove the pork chops from the marinade and season before placing on the grill.
Grill the pork chops for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F. Let the pork chops rest for a few minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute.
Once the pork chops are done, remove them from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in tender and juicy pork chops.
Grilled pork chops with soy sauce and honey marinade are incredibly versatile and can be served with a variety of sides. Our favorite sides for grilled pork chops are cheesy loaded twice baked potatoes or summer squash, zucchini and corn casserole.
Hint: Do not overcook the pork chops. The pork chops will be dried out and tough if they are cooked over 160°F.
Substitutions
If you're missing an ingredient or looking for a substitution for the Grilled Pork Chops with Soy Sauce and Honey Pork Chop Marinade recipe, here are a few options:
- Pork Chops - instead of pork chops use boneless skinless chicken or even steak.
- Honey - use maple syrup or brown sugar instead of honey if you don't have any on hand.
- Soy Sauce - the soy sauce can be replaced with tamari sauce or coconut aminos.
Remember that while these substitutions can work well, they might slightly alter the flavor of the dish. Always try to use the best alternative available to maintain the intended flavor and consistency of the recipe.

Storage
The leftovers are perfect for pork chop sandwiches or pork chop casserole. Here is how to store the leftover pork chops.
- Refrigerator - The leftover pork chops can be stored in the fridge in an air tight container or ziplock bag for 3-5 days. Reheat the pork chops in the air fryer.

Top tip
There are several things to keep in mind when grilling pork chops. Here are the top things to do to have the best grilled pork chops.
- Cook times can vary depending on the thickness of the pork chops. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the pork chops reach 145 and do not exceed 160.
- For less salt in the marinade, use a low sodium soy sauce.
- Reserve or make the extra marinade for a glaze by cooking the marinade down over a low heat on the stove in a small pan.
FAQ
The thickness of the pork chops will dictate the time it will take to cook. For most inch-thick pork chops on a 350 degree grill they will cook around 7 minutes on a side for a total time of 15 minutes. The pork chops are done when they reach 145-160 degrees.
You can marinate pork chops for up to 24 hours. However, you will want to reduce the salt amount the longer you let pork chops sit in the marinade.
