- Shredded Colby-Jack Cheese
How to Make Crock Pot Chicken Bacon Ranch
Put the chicken in the crock pot. I used five large pieces of chicken. Squirt each piece of chicken with the ranch salad dressing. Follow the dressing with a single piece of uncooked bacon on the chicken.
Cover the crock pot and cook on high for two to three hours. After the chicken and bacon are cooked, sprinkle with the cheese, recover the crock pot, and cook until the cheese is melted. The family will love this chicken bacon ranch along side of the party potatoes.

I serve this recipe with buttery noodles or mashed potatoes and veggies. It is super flavorful. Plus, if you have leftover, you can make a great chicken corn chowder!
Tips for Making Crock Pot Chicken Bacon Ranch
- The bacon will not be crisp. If you want it crisper, pan fry it before you put it on the chicken. I would put a about a tablespoon of grease down in the crock pot before putting the chicken in.
- If you use boneless chicken thighs instead of breasts, there could be a lot grease. That also means a LOT of flavor.
- Use your favorite ranch dressing.
- To make this in the oven, cook in a 13X9 pan for 30 minutes and then top off with cheese. Bake another 10 minutes. Make sure chicken reaches 160 degrees.

This is not a good recipe. Chicken does not cook fully.

If your chicken did not get done after 3hours on high in your crockpot, you did something majorly wrong.

Something must have gone wrong 🙁 Was your chickn completely thawed? Were your pieces VERY large? Do you use your crockpot often so you know the high and low settings work correctly? Did someone lift the lid a few times to check the meal? Any of the thing would change the cooking time and quality of the finished product. I have made this recipe several times and the fàmily loves it. I do vary slightly from the recipe by using plain greek yogurt and sprinkling ranch dressing mix on it. Everything else is as the recipe states. If my chicken breast were very thick I filleted them to make them thinner. Don't give up. Give it another try.

Chicken cooks fully when you cook it right!😁

Tried this and it came out very well except for the bacon being very under cooked. Everything else was very tasty. Should the bacon be partially cooked before putting it in the crock-pot? I use my crock-pot all the time and the high and low settings seem to match all recipes (including this one) very well. I followed the instructions to the letter but the bacon was undercooked.
I will definitely try this again as we liked everything else, but wasn't sure if there was some trick to avoid the half-cooked bacon.
Lauren
I wonder if the bacon would be better put down first instead of on top of the chicken...ig you happen to try that before me, let me know 😀

Would give more stars if the bacon was cooked.

It turned out perfect after I used partially cooked bacon. Very tender and made chicken corn soup with left overs for lunch the next day. Thank you! *****

I have tried this recipe more than once and I ALWAYS bake it and cook the bacon FIRST! I put it on after the chicken is done baking along with cheese and sautéed onions... I would never put this in the crockpot, especially with raw bacon. So gross.
Marsha
Why would you leave a bad review for a recipe that you didn't actually make? I under that you don't like the idea of it, don't make it! But to leave a bad review ecause you don't make it is idiotic.

Leah

It Was incredibly good! I will make this again!

I just made this and it is......Freakin’ Awesome! Definitely making this again and again...until I get tired of making it of course, lmfao! One recommendation though: bake your bacon separately in an oven, then add to crockpot with cheese and let melt as told in recipe. All that’s left to do is eat and enjoy 😉 sooo... bye bye bout to slam with my greedy self! P.S. my boo gave it a 4 1/2 💘
KT
The recipe says to use the casserole crockpot, but the video shows a regular crockpot. Does it make a difference?
Leah
It will work in either. I tend to use my casserole crock pot when I make it but wanted to show a traditional crock pot for anyone who doesn’t have one.
Brandi
I made this yesterday I added an applewood rub on both sides of my chicken, then the ranch then the raw bacon then cheese as it was instructed. It turned out perfect and it was awwwmazing! I think I’ll add carmelized onions next time and add with the cheese
Linda
I made this tonight, it was so easy and yummy. I cooked the bacon first for a bit of crunch. Served it with mashed cauliflower and green beans. Thanks for the simplified recipe.
Nicole
Just tried this recipe today and it is so good!! Will be doing this recipe again! The only thing I did differently was cook the bacon a little bit to give it some crispiness to it.
