The simplicity of this green bean recipe is what makes it one of my favorite things. That and the fact that it is green beans, one of my favorite vegetables. Now, the original recipe makes a full 13″ X 9″ pan. But for a weeknight meal, a simple 8″ x 8″ or 2-quart casserole dish will work perfectly.

Start making the casserole by dumping two cans of green beans that have been drained into the greased casserole dish. In a bowl or two cup measuring cup mix together an envelope of ranch dressing mix, can of cream of mushroom soup and two tablespoons of milk. Pour the soup mixture over the top of the green beans. Then top the soup with shredded cheese, sliced almonds, and french fried onions. Again, for a gluten-free version, be sure to buy the gluten-free french fried onions.

Bake for 25 minutes on 350 degrees.
